Interview with your Stylist

Now and then I like to write a blog about my own Carmel Personal Stylist opinions, perspectives, and favorites in style. This is one of those blogs. I am always shopping and reading about beauty and style, so I like to tell you my thoughts about it. Next week, my blog will focus on men and their style needs.

Personal Preferences from Your Carmel Personal Stylist

Skin Care

  • I have not had a facelift (YET) and do not use Botox. I do drop money on skin care and facials. I love the Classic Facial and Derm at Hand and Stone. I have a membership so I stop by there monthly. Tabitha is my favorite facialist there.
  • I like a good BBL. It removes sun damage and dead skin. I get four a year. Jamie at Spa 170 West in Carmel is amazing. I love her personality and expertise.
  • I love Skinsuiticals Vitamin C serum, Skinbetter Retin A product, and Elta MD color corrector for my reddish skin. I am always using a thick moisturizer at night and rotate between Lancome and Este Lauder.
  • I recently bought a new LED mask. I think it will make a difference. I am not sure which one is better, so I won’t recommend one here, but my mask only takes 3 minutes and with always being busy this is a big plus to me.

Hair

  • I love Jacqueline at Splash for giving my blonde hair golden highlights that are not too brassy. She puts a brownish base underneath. I have curly hair and try to optimize that with layers that allow my curls to show. But, honestly, I don’t like spending time on my hair. I am trying to change my attitude.

Clothes

  • As you can imagine I have many opinions about clothing. But they won’t surprise you. I like to buy better quality pieces, especially blazers and other basics I will wear from year to year. Amazon and inexpensive pieces just won’t do. Sure, it’s ok to find an occasional trendy item on Amazon – but why? I would rather visit Altered State or Dry Goods and look at their new pieces than buy on Amazon or other sites.
  • Jeans are still a big part of my wardrobe. I think the most important thing about jeans is knowing what you like and your exact fit. For instance, I have shorter legs and a short rise, which means I can’t really wear high rise pants. So I have found the makers that do create these. I am not going to lie to you – more expensive jeans are amazing. They just are. Some examples I have and continue to enjoy are Mother (makes midrise, dark rinse), AG (midrise and incredible fit), Paige, and Levi (even low rise).
  • The most important issue to me in buying and wearing clothes is fit. You can’t always do that when you buy online. I am seeing so many people shopping at the mall, and I honestly believe people are shopping live!

Consider My Carmel Personal Stylist Services

My services can help you with many things, including:

  • Knowing your best colors and prints, and worst colors.
  • Knowing the “lines” to avoid. Where should your jacket hit? What pants inseam is not for you. Can you emphasize your waist? If so, where?

If you need Carmel Personal Stylist expertise, please reach out for an appointment. I know I can help you and shape your image! I started doing this service with makeup in 2012. I became a certified image consultant in 2017 via AICI. That’s nearly 15 years of experience.

Keep it sassy, Indy.
