Black Friday — one of the busiest shopping days of the year — is coming up. So I might as well jump on the band wagon and give you some of my gift ideas.
Think about giving the gift of beauty … the holidays are a perfect time to take advantage of some boxed sets. Give them as gifts or buy them for yourself. Makeup, brushes and perfume will never be priced like this all year, so take a look at what’s out there.
Consider giving something personal. Several years ago, I took a snapshot of the creek near our house where we all grew up and asked an artist to paint a watercolor. I had it professionally framed. (I found the artist through a local art college.) Everyone loved the gift–it was a one of a kind.–and still hangs in my mother’s dining room.
Something practical…I am a big fan of unique hats, scarves and gloves. A couple of years ago, my niece Darlene gave me a beautiful, hand knitted turquoise infinity scarf. It is well made, soft and looks great with a variety of coats. Her coworker knitted it, but I have a website to look at as well: www.twoseasidebabes.com. Also, there are several stores near you that feature handmade products that support local business. Seek them out!
If you want to give the gift of style, consider a gift certificate from B.Divine. I offer makeup or shopping sessions for your favorite fancy lady! Email me at beth@bdivinemakeup.com for more information.
Last, but not least, consider giving the gift of time! Treat a friend to lunch, and spend the day catching up. Who doesn’t love lunch with a special friend!
Merry Christmas.
