As I wrap up my series of posts on buying jeans, I’ve got some more Indiana Personal Stylist tips for you to keep in mind. If you can’t wait to take off jeans in the dressing room, that’s your answer on whether or not to get them. Great jeans should feel secure but not suffocating. You shouldn’t be adjusting them every five minutes. I always ask clients to sit down in their jeans. Do they ride up? Are they too tight? Or just right? Keep in mind that most jeans stretch out. So avoid baggy jeans unless that is the look you are going for. Make sure to double-check the length and try on the shoes you plan to wear with the jeans to the appointment.
At the end of the day, jeans are an investment in how you feel. The right pair will earn the cost per wear over and over again. So yes, glance at the price, but choose the pair that makes you stand taller and think, “Okay… these are good.” Those are the ones worth taking home.
Indiana Personal Stylist Tips on Embellished Jeans
Because I love variety, color, and embellishments, I have some pointers to think about when buying embellished jeans.
Now back to embellished jeans — I do love them and have a couple of pairs as well as colored jeans. Keep this in mind about embellished jeans:
* The art, metallic, beading should be in an area you want to downplay. For example, my jeans with a flower have it sewn on the lower leg and not on my thigh, which I want to downplay.
* When you make an outfit with “artistic jeans,” you don’t have to match; you just coordinate. My jeans are a light wash and predominantly red, but I wear a dusty pink jacket or blouse with them, as well as the obvious red. A cream blouse looks great with them, too.
I do love a pair of colored jeans. Olive is a color I love in jeans, and I wear it with so much. This includes red, pink, navy, cream, leopard print, black/cream shirts, and jean jackets. I wear these jeans as much as my regular denim.
I also like jeans in red, which is really popular now. Options include salmon, cream in the winter months, or even plum. These add variety to your closet, and you will want this.
Schedule a Shopping Appointment with an Indiana Personal Stylist
I love to shop with clients about jeans and consider myself some type of expert. I shop with clients quite a bit, so I can recommend what is current. I also know “you,” so I can give you a personalized shopping experience and keep in mind the trends I think will work for you.
I just did a shopping appointment with a client who had a very eclectic style but wanted a little more classic look for school and a business casual workplace. We did find her perfect jeans – they were Paige. They were at a higher price point than she was used to paying. We discussed her budget before our appointment, and she was on board with at least one pair of investment jeans.
She is pictured here with a glen plaid vest and a T-shirt. She loves this look and it will be perfect for her upcoming trip out West.
