Hello Ladies.
Ever bought a piece you really like, pair it with something you have and find — it just doesn’t work??? You don’t want to spend too much time try to find something ….but.
I bought a pair of black and white polka dot straight ankle pants–very comfortable, too, in all cotton with a little stretch to them.I thought I could wear with my dressy chambray shirt or white denim jacket…but the way they are cut, they were not flattering. They stopped at largest part of my hips.
So I realized I needed a top that hits about mid-hip–not above or far below such as a tunic.
Tried on a few tops and found that a dressy black top — long — worked, as did this Top Shop vest. I bought a sheer white silk top to wear underneath. Love it. I can wear my white denim jacket with the dressy black top. Basically I have two outfits now. And, it’s May in Indy, and I have my black and white ensemble!
Problem solved. My philosophy…if you can find something to go with a piece on the first shopping trip…keep it. If you are constantly trying to find something to make your item “work,” cut your losses! Donate it, or take it to consignment.
Keep it sassy, Indy.
