This post is not an Oprah’s Favorites blog, but I am going to share some Indianapolis Personal Stylist insight on buying for the women in your life. It is all about perspective.
Indianapolis Personal Stylist Gifting Tips
I did learn something about gift-giving from my husband, who says he listens to what someone might mention in conversation. Such as I love that coat, or that purse, etc. Or I have always wanted a ….you fill in the blank.
Another way to buy gifts is when you see something when you are out, and it’s fabulous, buy it! Someone on your gift list will love it. For example, last Saturday night we were at Nordstrom, and boy was it crowded! So happy to see this. Is retail back? Anyway, they had a huge display of cashmere in beautiful colors: sweaters, scarves, gloves, etc. I spotted a red cashmere beanie. I just happen to have a good friend who loves bright red, and there were only two red beanies left!
Another way to shop for gifts is to read up on the hot gifts that stores such as Nordstrom, Saks and Bloomingdale’s are promoting. Not Kohl’s. You can get some great ideas there. For instance, three years ago I took the plunge and bought a Dyson hair dryer. I had been thinking about it, and when my stylist let me try hers, I was hooked. The main advantage is that it dries much faster and doesn’t damage your hair. For very busy moms and working women, it is a most thoughtful gift.
Another gift that I think is so fun is an experience gift, such as a concert or play with dinner. This is something to remember, and you take some great pics! For instance, I think one year my husband bought me tickets to see Barry Manilou in Las Vegas. Now you know my husband is not a Barry Manilou fan, but it was still a fabulous show and very well done. Another fun gift is some spa services your significant other would enjoy, such as a facial or massage.
Another gift I remember a friend of mine mentioning was skin care — her mother-in-law had bought her a gift set of skin care. These are value-priced around the holidays, as are fragrance sets that include lotion. Try to get a scent that is a classic, such as Chanel Chance or even Coco. There are some other great scents; just ask your sales associate what is light and popular.

Of course, I would be remiss not to mention that my color analysis service is one of the most popular offerings I have. They are perfect because it’s something that can benefit everyone! They take up to an hour, and the recipient receives a color swatch book and some tips about skin care or making outfits with your book! It’s priced at $300. I can conduct the service at my office in Broad Ripple or come to your house. It’s also a good entryway service to what other avenues I offer for style.
Here is more information about my services.
Keep it sassy, Indy.
